Oakland Arena is the home of the Golden State
Warriors of the National Basketball Association and has been since
the club moved to the area in 1971. The arena is located at 7000
Coliseum Way, Oakland, CA 94621, and also was the home of several
ice and roller hockey teams in previous years. Oakland Arena has
parking available for nearly 10,000 cars and is located only two
miles from the nearest international airport. The Golden State
Warriors have retired four players and their numbers into their
hall of fame including Rick Barry and Nate Thurmond, both of whom
are regarded among the top players ever in the game. The stadium
has 72 luxury suites and almost 4,000 club level seats and ticket
prices are among the lowest in the NBA. The average ticket price
is just over $30 per ticket and some seats are available for as
cheap as $10. The Warriors aren’t the only team that plays
in Oakland Arena. The Golden Bears of the University of California
also play their home games in the arena so fans in the Oakland
area are able to see some of the top college basketball teams
in the nation, teams like Arizona, Stanford, and UCLA. Oakland
Arena also hosts numerous boxing matches and big name concerts
throughout the year as well as other non-sporting events.
