The New Orleans Arena was completed and opened
in 1999 and is the home of the New Orleans Hornets of the NBA
and the Tulane University Green Wave basketball team. Over the
years, the New Orleans Arena has also hosted the Nokia Sugar Bowl
basketball classic, the Women’s Final Four, Arena Football
with the New Orleans Voodoo, concert, festivals, banquets, trade
shows, and conventions and functions during the Mardi Gras festivities.
The New Orleans Arena cost $84 million to construct and is located
a mere 15 miles from the nearest airport. There is also parking
available for 5,000 automobiles. The New Orleans Arena has 44
luxury suites for fans as well as numerous club level seats for
all types of events. The New Orleans Arena usually hosts around
225-250 events each year because of the various activities that
go on in the city of New Orleans. The New Orleans Arena has hosted
concerts for various big names like Metallica and Alan Jackson
and they’ve also hosted big sporting events due to the attraction
of the city of New Orleans.
